Katie Kirk, MSW, MA

Integrative, trauma-informed therapy with specialties in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, substance use, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

Katie Kirk is a master’s-level social worker with more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health, supporting people through many different seasons of life. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of New England and holds a Master of Arts in Psychology with a specialization in Consciousness, Spirituality, and Integrative Health from Saybrook University. Her diverse professional background includes community mental health, child welfare, intensive family-based treatment, developmental disabilities, criminal justice, crisis intervention, and substance use services.

Katie has worked with children, adolescents, adults, older adults, couples, and families. She takes an integrative, trauma-informed approach to therapy, drawing from humanistic perspectives, strengths-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, psychoeducation, and expressive modalities. Rather than applying one approach to everyone, Katie tailors therapy to each person’s unique values, culture, experiences, and goals.

Katie enjoys working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, substance use and co-occurring concerns, relationship dynamics, emotional regulation, and life transitions. Her work balances reflection with practical support, helping clients explore the patterns underlying their thoughts and emotions while developing concrete skills they can use in everyday life.

At the heart of Katie’s practice is a genuine curiosity about the human story and a belief that past experiences do not have to define what comes next. She strives to create a therapeutic space grounded in authenticity, collaboration, and hope where clients feel deeply heard while discovering new ways of understanding themselves. Whether challenging an old belief, developing new coping tools, or making meaning from a painful chapter, Katie believes there is always more to your story than the current chapter.
